Madalen Castells-Jauregui is a Senior Economist in the Financial Research Division of the European Central Bank (ECB). Her research focuses on financial markets and financial intermediation, with particular interest in safe assets, financial crises, and banking regulation. She received her PhD in Finance and Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in 2022 and joined the ECB that same year.
