Discussion paper
Tobias Heidland is the director of the Research Center “International Development” at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and professor of economics at Kiel University. He researches globalization and development, especially international migration, foreign exchange, and the policies to manage them. His research has been published in journals such as AEJ: Macroeconomics, Review of Economics and Statistics, IMF Economics Review, Journal of Development Economics, and European Journal of Political Research.
