Radu Barza is the Global Focus Manager and Development Officer at UNHCR, contributing to the organization’s global reports and leading capacity-building initiatives in data analysis. With over 19 years of experience in the private sector (Samsung, Nestlé, Unilever), international organizations (ILO, UNHCR), and academia (IHEID), Barza brings a multidisciplinary perspective grounded in academic rigor and practical expertise. Barza’s work centers on data analysis, research, and the design and delivery of training programs on data collection, analysis, and indicator construction for country operations and national statistics offices. Barza holds a PhD in Development Economics from the Geneva Graduate Institute and master’s degrees in Business Management and International Economics, equipping him to effectively bridge theory and practice in addressing complex development challenges and measuring impact.
