Maarten R C van Oordt

Maarten van Oordt is Professor of Money and Banking at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is an expert in the area of digital currencies as well as risk management. Prior to joining the academic world, he held increasingly senior roles at the Bank of Canada and the Dutch Central Bank. His research has been published in academic journals such as Management Science, the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Political Economy. Maarten van Oordt is a member of CEPR’s Research Policy Network on Fintech and Digital Currencies.
